Battle of Bosworth | Spring Seed Wine Co. | Springs Road Wines

Hi there

I hope that you are well and settling gently into step 2, or is it stage 2.5 of the easing of Covid-19 restrictions. I for one can't wait to see when the spas and sauna restrictions are finally eased, ditto shisha and hookah use! Only joking, I just read about this in the Adelaide Advertiser.

We are looking forward to the borders opening up again so that we can welcome interstate visitors as well as locals to taste our wines at cellar door. I might need to buy some more formal clothes however as I am not sure that the brave new post-Covid world will welcome tracky daks as work wear, more's the pity.
Easing Restrictions

I wanted to remind you about what started as the isolation six pack but then morphed into the social distancing six pack and which I now am calling the easing restrictions pack. Nothing like evolution. Contains a bottle each of the Spring Seed grigio, Bosworth Semillon and Bosworth Savvy and one each of the Spring Seed Cabernet, Bosworth Heretic (Touriga/ Graciano/ Shiraz) and a bottle of the Puritan Shiraz. Delivered to your door, Australia wide, for $125.00 (for the 6 wines - the regular RRP is $147.00)

The deal

One reason that you might have been sold the idea to join our mailing list is that you would be privy to some special deals, failed export orders or labelling disasters. Well here is something along those lines, a bin end of our 2018 Sauvignon Blanc that didn't end up going to where it was supposed to. We 'discovered' it during Corona down time, sitting quietly in the warehouse.

We made this wine for a customer, and applied their labels to the bottle (so they are not BoB labels) i.e. the wine is not a cleanskin. Our SB is a sophisticated style, we think - with cut grass, lantana and just the merest hint of passionfruit on the nose. The wine shows citrus notes on the palate and a fresh zippy finish.

The SB is $100.00 a case delivered Australia wide (this is just over 8 dollars a bottle).

Pale Rider

Here's another super deal for the pale alers amongst you. Our Pale Ale is a 'session' ale, and is made using organic barley that was grown in the paddock in front of the winery. Joch was drinking a stubbie the other night and held it out and said, gee this is good, let's get it out there.

So, here's deal (until stocks last and we brew another batch):

Battle of Bosworth Pale Ale: 24 x 330ml bottles for $100.00 delivered to your door Australia wide FREIGHT FREE. (Normal price $100.00 plus freight).

Vineyard round-up

What's happening in the vineyard? The usual stuff at this time of the year - the cover crop has been sown after an excellent start rain-wise to the season. Pruning has well and truly started. I know this because when I drive up the driveway I see the familiar lone figure of Harley the pruner snipping away at the Shiraz there. Nice to see you Harley!
Winery high jinks

Here's a throwback to harvest time in the winery; this is Scott and as you can see, he's wearing a high- vis jump suit. I know I have sent this before, but it's a ripper, so deserves a second run. Scott didn's wear this suit for safety reasons; he was made to wear it it because he dropped a couple of hydrometers and a thermometer during the course of his winemaking endeavours. Wearing this suit is a punishment, think of it as a modern-day version of time in the stocks. Poor Scott. It's these kind of things that keep us chipper here at BoB.
Kangaroo Island

The last two photos are from our KI cellar door, Springs Road. Annabel hosted Cosi from ‘South Aussie with Cosi’. He popped into cellar door the day before the KI Cup for a tasting and some filming (he had a horse racing and was filming).  Thanks for hosting him Annabel, and thanks Ruth for hosting behind the scenes.
The final shot is the view up the driveway to cellar door taken by Dean Wiles Photographer. Cellar door is going to be open at Springs Road on KI this weekend coming (20th and 21st June from 12-4pm) and the daily for the school holidays from Saturday 27th June to Sunday the 19th July. Come and visit us there.
That's all for now. Let me know if you need anything. As well as the offers above, we also have the ongoing very generous (IMHO) 10% off a dozen - mixed or straight), you can see the link below. In the meantime I hope the next stage is a good one for you all - I for one can't wait to stop ending my emails with the words 'stay safe'. Cheers,

Louise and Joch
