Joch has used the last of our Petit Verdot from the Hill vineyard in front of cellar door to make this wine, with the balance made up using our Shiraz. The wine spends an extra 6 months in new French oak maturing before blending and bottling. The 2019 BOV is juicy and textured showing dense blue fruits, violets, rum and raisin chocolate on the nose. It has full, mouth coating tannins, with a lively, fresh and long finish.
A dark-coloured wine with dark chocolate and ripe plum and spice on the nose with red and black fruits on the palate. A spicy, full and flavoursome wine.
Chanticleer shows red fruits and is a lovely juicy wine, with a hint of blue fruits on the nose. It has a full blue-fruit palate and is a wonderful layered wine with a hint of dark chocolate and pepper too
Ding’s shows spicy red fruits with a whiff of herbal notes. There are black fruits and yet more red fruits on the palate. The wine finishes with excellent length and persistence. It is also a very fresh and expressive wine.
The VFC has a nose of cassis and fine brandy spirit, as well as rich, round muscatels. This is very much an Aussie style of fortified wine, vaguely reminiscent of the Muscats from north east Victoria. It has a wonderful balanced sweetness on the finish. Warm fire, glass of this VFC, feet up. Perfection.
A vibrant and opulent Vintage Fortified Touriga Nacional (formerly known as a Vintage Port). It has terrific structure and body and has great tannins and concentrated flavors of black fruit. Pair with mature hard cheese, settle back in your armchair and reminisce about the good old days. Bottled in a 375ml bottle.
